In early September, we sat down with Amy Ohran, president and GM at Boreal, Soda Springs and Woodward Tahoe, and John McLeod, president and GM at Mt. Bachelor, to talk about their shared connection to Bend and their complementary experiences with Woodward as it expands into Oregon.
Let’s start with the basics. Where are you from?
In the last Fulcrum, we wrote about the opening of Woodward Mountain Park (WWMP) at six POWDR mountain resorts. By integrating Woodward with its resorts, POWDR is leveraging Woodward’s philosophies about fun and progression to create on-mountain experiences meant to inspire the next generation. This infusion of Woodward-designed on-mountain terrain is a POWDR-wide initiative to bring Woodward to the mountains and revolutionize the on-snow experience for all levels.

Woodward Tahoe at Boreal Mountain Resort is getting a new roof. No, there’s nothing wrong with the current one—it's fine. The new roof will be installed over the existing roof and it’s made of photovoltaic cells. It’s POWDR’s biggest investment in on-site solar energy to date, and when it’s finished, it will produce 65 percent of the combined electricity needs of the Woodward Tahoe facility and Boreal’s base lodge.
