Plant a Tree.

POWDR’s Play It Forward

The wake of the pandemic created economic uncertainty in our communities. To support them as they navigate uncertainty with an eye on a bright future, POWDR launched Play It Forward in June. Part of POWDR's Play Forever corporate responsibility commitment, Play It Forward celebrates and enables actions that support the mountain communities in which we live, love, work, and play.

Play Forever Fridays Debut at Woodward Park City

The inaugural Play Forever Fridays took place at Woodward Park City the afternoon of Sept. 11, and benefitted Wasatch Adaptive Sports, a local organization that cultivates independence and mobility among those with adaptive needs. The event was open to the public, and participants received 25 percent off lift tickets all day; $5 for each ticket was donated to Wasatch Adaptive Sports. The event also included mountain bike demos by adaptive athletes, a public Q&A session with the athletes, free outdoor yoga, music in the plaza, and a raffle for a Subaru swag bag.

Passionate People: Benny McGinnis

There’s passion, and then there’s Woodward passion. But this isn’t just some marketing jargon we toss up on a website, type out in a social caption, or mention in a web series. It’s the truth. From the campers who migrate to our locations each summer, to the athletes training for their next big event.

CORNER OFFICE

By Megan Baroska

We are fortunate to be in an industry with many knowns that make our planning and operations run smoothly from year to year. We know, for example, about when the temperature will cool and the conditions will become right for snowmaking. We can plan our staffing levels according to when the calendar says is the winter holiday and spring break. And most intuitively, perhaps, teams across POWDR resorts know how to prepare the mountain for great ski and ride experiences our guests come back for year after year.

Introducing The Woodword

If you’re reading this, you’ve probably noticed that The Fulcrum looks a little different than usual. Aside from a bit of a facelift (which we’re pretty excited about, by the way), we've introduced a brand-new component for your reading pleasure: The Woodword.

MY POWDR Shutting Down

MY POWDR, the POWDR-wide internal mobile news and social app, will discontinue at the end of September. For the past few years it has allowed users to read news articles about what’s happening across POWDR, share social media content, comment on posts, and participate in fun competitions and games, all in one customized POWDR application.

While MY POWDR helped build a stronger POWDR employee network, due to technical challenges, the full potential of the app was never realized. So, after Sept. 30, MY POWDR will no longer be usable.

Woodward Park City Designated as Center of Excellence, Mountain Experience Testing Ground

Having opened its doors in December 2019 and only recently wrapped up its inaugural summer camp season, Woodward Park City, the world’s first action sports and ski resort, has been further elevated as a living, breathing center of excellence for Woodward’s mountain experiences.
