U.S. Ski & Snowboard recently gave out its 2020 awards, with gold- and silver-level recognition for a variety of officials for their service and support of events, athletes and programs. POWDR’s Herwig Demschar was honored with the Bud and Mary Little Award for his lifetime service to the International Ski Federation (FIS) on behalf of the USA.
Mt. Bachelor joined the aerial adventure game with a new zip line that debuted on July 4. The three-stage zip tour is the fastest, steepest and longest in the Northwest, says resort staff, with 1.3 miles of total zipping and a nearly 1,400-vertical-foot drop.
As POWDR resorts look ahead to the upcoming winter season, a lot is up in the air. One unknown is what staffing will look like after the Trump administration's June suspension of new foreign work visas through the end of the year, which bars hundreds of thousands of foreigners from seeking employment in the United States. This includes H-2B (temporary) and J-1 (student) visas, which are integral to staffing seasonal workers in the hospitality industry.

Woodward Park City Opens for Summer
On May 23, Woodward Park City welcomed athletes, guests and community members when it opened its action sports parks for wheeled sports including scooter, skateboarding and BMX.
