Woodward Park City Opens for Summer
On May 23, Woodward Park City welcomed athletes, guests and community members when it opened its action sports parks for wheeled sports including scooter, skateboarding and BMX.
“Connecting community members to their passions is what Woodward Park City is all about, and we’re excited to open our action sports parks and host summer camp to do exactly that,” says Shaydar Edelmann, Woodward Park City general manager.
The team there is thrilled to resume operations while following all COVID-19 health and safety requirements and recommendations set forth by local and state officials. “By opening with new guidelines and protocols, we’ve created a safe and responsible place for families in Summit County to recreate,” says Edelmann.
Woodward Copper Pivots to Daytime Programming
Woodward Copper has continued to closely monitor COVID-19, both locally and nationally, including Colorado Governor Polis’ Safer At Home policy and reopening plan. Its top priority remains the safety and wellbeing of campers, staff and community. Therefore, the facility has adjusted its summer operational plans to meet or exceed all health and safety guidelines provided by Summit County, the state of Colorado, the CDC, and the American Camp Association.
As such, Woodward Copper Summer 2020 Camp is offering day lessons and programming for the summer season and will not be holding overnight camp. In continuing to inspire the next generation of action sports athletes, lessons and programming will include activities that allow campers to progress and grow through a Woodward experience with an emphasis on ski, snowboard, BMX and skate sports.
